Accommodation
My friend and I are both keen amateur artists we will be touring in Tuscany and Umbria and we would like to attend one of your art workshops. We are happy to share a room can you organise twin beds?
We have tried to make our accommodation as flexible as possible and twin beds can easily be arranged, as long as we know in advance of your arrival.
Activities
I am hoping to encourage my husband (who doesn't paint) to come with me on one of your art holidays. He is a keen golfer and it would help if there was a golf course nearby. Is there?
Yes, there is. The Lamborghini golf club in Panicale, Umbria is a short ten-minute drive away, a nine-hole course is open all year round. We would be happy to help arrange this for non-painting partners.
Car hire
Do we need to hire a car?
This is totally up to you, but we would advise it, especially if you are with a non-painting partner, as there is so much to see within an hour's drive, such as Siena, Montepulciano, Lake Trasimeno and Cortona. However once you are here, and on the course, there is no specific requirement for your own transport. Non-painting partners can enjoy the private estate with tennis courts, swimming pool (in season), beautiful walks through the woods and the chance to hire mountain bikes to explore the local area. Be warned, though, we do live in and around the Tuscan and Umbrian hills, some of which can be a little challenging!
Courses
How many people are on your painting courses?
We aim to keep our numbers limited to small groups and ensure a lot of one-to-one teaching, the average number on any course or art workshop is likely to be 5 or 6 and the maximum number would be 8 people.
Directions
My friends and I are attending one of your art workshops in the Spring. We are hiring a car at Rome airport and I am the designated driver. Is it difficult to get to you once I come off the motorway? I am a little worried having never driven in Italy before.
Not really. If you are travelling by car we are just 10 minutes away from the main motorway through the spine of Italy, the A1. Our junction is Chiusi. Honestly don't worry we will give you more detailed directions with your booking information. The only tricky bit comes once you enter estate, then you are on private land and must look out for signs to our house but if there are any problems we will come and find you!
We will be driving from Perugia airport. How do we get to you?
As soon as you leave the airport, follow the signs for Perugia or Firenze. You will soon find yourself on a two lane motorway. Continue on this main road for about 25 minutes until you see signs for the junction, Magione. At this point, leave the motorway and follow signs for Chiusi. You will pass by very close to the beautiful Lake Trasimeno and after a further 15 minutes or so you will enter a small town called Moiano. We are a few minutes away from Moiano and will give you more detailed directions with your booking information.
Food
I am just starting the Atkins diet (i.e. no pasta, pizza, ice-cream, wine and coffee) will that be a problem in Italy.
Yes.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
We cook simple delicious Italian food, using fresh local ingredients. If you have special dietary requirements please contact us by email and we will do our best to help. Remember to let us know on your booking form too.
Linens
Do I need to bring towels?
No, don't worry during your stay with us in Italy you will be provided with freshly laundered linens and towels.
Location
Where are you located?
We live on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, and our nearest local town,
Chiusi (in the province of Siena, Tuscany) is a five-minute drive away.
Chiusi is the exit for the main A1 motorway through Italy, and it is also a central hub for trains to and from all parts of the country. We are exactly midway between Florence and Rome, just over an hour from each of these magnificent cities, and most of the major towns and cities in central Italy are within easy reach.
